she sang great even though she had the freaking flu! other favorites of the night were Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, and Matt Giraud. And while Adam Lambert's vocals are very impressive..... his performance scared me. I felt like i was being hypnotized.... or seduced. scary.

this....

....amazes me. Some places know how to party.... orem/provo utah does not. why don't we dye the mountains green? seriously. happy st. patrick's day y'all. It's a gorgeous day and I want to play tennis...and take a nap in the grass. yet here I sit in an office. I love my life....really, i do.

that's right ladies and gentlemen..... the Kelly Clarkson we know and LOVE has returned. Her new album brings joy to my soul.... catchy tunes, great beats, and even better vocals create an album that is definitely sing-along-in-the-car worthy. go buy it. NOW!

voicemail.

Mark asked me why i didn't include his voicemail in my post about my birthday. so, as per his request, the voicemail went as follows:

"Hello brother, this is...brother. We are calling to wish you a happy day when you released yourself from the bondage of our mother's womb. When you crowned and came out of her placenta. Or otherwise known as your birthday. Happy birthday brother Mikey. We love you. Bye."

thanks mark. you're a gem

21.

i'm 21. be jealous... unless you're also 21 or older...then...just be proud of me for making it :)
So...what did i do for my 21st birthday you ask? what every other sane person on this earth does to celebrate their 21st.... i went to VEGAS! and celebrated like a true mormon would. the trip is as follows:

My kind friend spencer made the trip down w/ me.....that drive is so much more tolerable when you're not alone ps. We stopped in St. George to hear Casey sing at Dixie State for some dance recital thing and he did an amazing job. We then ate at Outback (yes.... of course we ordered the bloomin onion!) and then we headed down to Vegas. We stayed in Henderson...mostly to avoid being on the yummy strip. Saturday was spent doing some shopping and just getting caught up. We at an early dinner at this place called "Brio Tuscan Grille" it was delicious. we were joined by my other friend Luke and it was fun to get caught up. Then Casey, Spencer, and I headed down to the strip to see Phantom. After parking (and a less-than-short walk to the theater) we arrived and entered one of the coolest theaters i've been to. This place was built for this show and it made it that much more enjoyable. Our seats were great (all thanks to casey) and i was blown away by the show. Loved every minute of it (i still think wicked is my fave ever.... but phantom now joins my top 5). I was exhausted by the end of the night so i went to bed pretty early. Then sunday (my actual birthday) we got up, checked out of the hotel and then had an early lunch before heading back home. Once I arrived i was greeted with a wonderful dinner prepared by my sister julie. It consisted of so many wonderful italian yummies..... including, but not limited to... bruschetta, veggies, 2 types of pasta with 3 different sauces, parmesan chicken, and for dessert a delish raspberry cobbler. I loved every minute of my birthday and just want to say thanks again for all who made it enjoyable. I'm so grateful to have so many wonderful friends and family members.

So although i could have spent my big day drinking and gambling...i chose the right this time and managed to have a memorable time. here's to another year!!
